Alaska Dog Mushers Association presents Jeff Studdert Raceway, 28 miles of multi-use trail system at the heart of the Golden Heart City.

The trail system is very usable and safe through all of the turns up to the 19.4 mile. These sections have been broken out, groomed and are being utilized for recreation and have had the most traffic so far. It’s early season so still some rough sections, sections with willows and some soft spots but overall very good for early season recreation.

There is yellow caution flagging on or just before any section I believe that is cause to slow down, fyi. The extension had portions broken out and yesterday Remy groomed through it twice, today I went once down the middle section. It is open but rough and soft in spots with a lot of brush to cut still. Also coming soon is the New ONAC connector, it has been broken out but not groomed yet. This section of trail will be open for use not just used for ONAC and by running this route will add an additional 1 mile to your run. If you like West or East side just remember it takes a community effort for sure, it’s no easy feat to accomplish year after year.
