Alaska Dog Mushers Association and crew have been hard at work on the Jeff Studdert Raceway this season.
1/5/25 Prelim #2 the trail was groomed in preparation for use of the 1 dog loop, 2 dog loop, 4, 6.2, 11 & 14.4 mile turns. Trail conditions were firm, flat, 8 ft wide and hooks can hold.
1/6/25 28 miles of trail system was groomed as well as the 9.7 mile turn & 8 mile turns.
1/7/25 28 miles of trail system was groomed and the holding area. Remainder of the week will be prepping for Prelim #3 focusing on the 1 dog loop, 2 dog loop, 4, 8, 12.5 & 16.4 mile turns.
Current trail conditions are firm, flat, 8 ft wide and most all surfaces can hold a hook. There is some brush work to do, a few big dips need snow and some overflow but mainly in the extension.
Remember to pay your daily or yearly trail use fee and or become an ADMA member, this helps us offset some of the grooming and plowing of the parking area costs.
