Gates at Mushers Hall will be opened later tonight.
The trail was groomed last night through the 20 mile. Hoping for a little more snow, and we will most likely have a usable safe trail tomorrow before the cold snap hits.
The trail system was in surprisingly good shape last night. You couldn’t tell it had rained on it for 48 hours, the snow on the sides you could definitely tell it melted. Only one litte sign of overflow on the corner just before the 8 mile turn, it will be manageable to deal with.
There was some trail damage in areas on ADMA property and near Creamer’s Field. Without any snow to pull in and fill holes, the trail was flattened down some when it was groomed, but please use at your own judgement on speed when running sprint teams in those areas. Trail crew will be working on it again tonight if possible and can hopefully fill them in a bit more.
PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION IN THE PARKING LOT – IT IS VERY ICY AND SLICK!
There are no concerns for the future of our championship races due to trail conditions at this point. We could use some more snow but overall trail looks good!
Thank you so much for you hard work and effort Carl, Todd and Remy!
Also thank you to most users for staying off the trails during the warm weather! This makes it so much easier to work with than repairing frozen damaged or torn up areas!
